Explore our New ArrivalsThere are certain pieces that become part of a brand’s identity, and the Ibiza Dress has been one of those pieces for us.
First introduced as part of our Spring/Summer 2022 collection, the Ibiza Dress arrived at a different point in Serena Bute’s story. At the time, the brand was smaller and products were often only produced in a small range of sizes. The focuses was entirely on designing pieces that were original, relaxed, and made women feel good. The fit needed to flatter a wide range of sizes, feel comfortable in the heat, move beautifully, and still feel special enough to wear from morning until midnight.
The Ibiza Dress managed all of that at once.
THE INSPIRATION
THE INSPIRATION
Inspired by long summers in Ibiza, it was designed to feel easy in every sense of the word. Something you could throw over a bikini on the way to the beach, wear with flip flops, whilst wandering through markets in the afternoon sun, then completely transform in the evening with jewellery, a heel and a touch of blush.
The silhouette was intentionally uncomplicated: softly voluminous, easy through the body, with a V-neck shape that is high enough to wear with a bra and low enough to make you feel fabulous. Subtle belt loops allowed the dress to be worn loose, or cinched at the waist depending on your mood (or lunch plans), while deep pockets made it feel practical rather than precious. It quickly became the sort of dress that went straight into the suitcase without question.

And then came the colour… shocking pink, neon yellow, purple and black. Shades that are unapologetically joyful and became something of a Serena Bute signature, still enquired about years later. It was the dress worn to beach clubs, summer birthdays, gallery openings, weddings abroad, breakfasts the morning after the wedding, and occasionally all within the same weekend.
Since then, the brand has evolved enormously. Tailoring has become a huge part of our identity, alongside more refined fabrics and structured silhouettes. We’ve grown up slightly, perhaps. But the playful side of Serena Bute never disappeared entirely. Colour and brightness remain weaving through our collections, particularly in Spring/Summer.

We re-introduced the Ibiza Dress in 2024 in a slightly different fabrication, but this season it returns in its original spirit - easy, bright, uncomplicated and designed entirely around how you want to feel. Not over styled, not restrictive, and comfortable from 9am into the late hours of the night.
This season, it returns in a palette that feels just as bold and mood lifting as the original. Sapphire Blue feels striking but somehow still timeless, looking incredible against sun-kissed skin and equally chic in the city with oversized sunglasses and sandals. Neon Yellow is pure holiday magic, impossible to ignore, optimistic and guaranteed to attract compliments. Shocking Pink feels perhaps the most nostalgic of them all, a reminder of some of our earliest SB pieces and the women who have worn them for years. Then of course, there is Black, the ‘understated’ option that in this style, still carries all the same ease and drama.

The return of the dress also marks the return of some of our original neon pieces, including the neon Oversized Shirt, the slimmer-cut Serena Shirt, and the Classic Joggers in matching colour ways. These pieces feel deeply nostalgic to us, whilst still being original and modern. The fabric survives being folded into an overpacked suitcase, and can simply go into the washing machine afterwards. Pieces designed to be lived in properly; worn on holiday, packed, unpacked, and worn over and over again.
Whilst we continue to evolve through tailoring, denim, linen and new fabrications, we are so excited to bring back our Ibiza Dress and original neon pieces. They represent a huge part of the brands identity - original, effortless and joyful to wear.
